Jo-Ann Sheen is a printmaker, and she used a process called collagraphy to re‐contextualize discarded packaging materials so we can stop to look at them in a new way. “I have taken these discarded items and changed their context, examining their materiality in a different form,” she said. “They have been rescued from the recycling bin and transformed into two dimensional images.”

Hansen-Ross Pottery operated in Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan from the mid 1950s to 2005. The Pottery was named after two artists, Danish-born Folmer Hansen (1930– ) and Winnipeg-born David Ross (1925–1974). In this exhibition, are finely crafted modernist ceramics, including works which were prominently featured at the Montreal Expo 67 exhibition Canadian Fine Craft.
Jackie Frioud makes salt-fired tableware for everyday use in her home studio in Horseshoe Bay.
Jackie works towards a tension between chance and control, paring down forms in search of a perfect shape and proportion, but allowing the process to show in the subtle marks and gestures of her hands, the trail of the flame and the salt vapour, and the inherent qualities of clay.
"While looking at these photographs, I hope you experience some of the pleasure I had capturing them.
I am a photography enthusiast who has had the good fortune to travel and see many places in this world. I am constantly amazed by the beauty around us, and try to represent this with my images. Noam Gagnon's provocative new work reflects on the quest for love and acceptance, and how our identities shift and change. What is it to be pliable, de-formed and re-formed, without losing our integrity? This Crazy Show is an eccentric and entertaining exploration of how our bodies and sense of self can continuously morph and evolve. A magnetic and irresistibly charming stage presence, Gagnon is renowned for holding nothing back, physically or emotionally, in his full-throttle performances. A long platinum blonde wig, an accordion, a plethora of disco balls, and more all come into play as he whirls the audience away on a breathless, fantastical ride.
Two Tickets to Vancouver Moving Theatre's Christmas Show!
Bah! Humbug! is reconceived as a tale where sushi-loving Scrooge owns a pawn shop on Hastings Street and checks his iPhone to time Bob Cratchet’s late arrival to work. The Spirits of this classic tale are re-imagined as emerging from Coast Salish territory buried under the sidewalks of today’s Downtown Eastside. This imaginative all-ages production offers a bittersweet twist on a cherished classic that celebrates the transformative power of human redemption.
Juno award-winning singer and actor Jim Byrnes returns to the stage as Ebenezer Scrooge, and award-winning Margo Kane (2015 City of Vancouver Mayor’s Award – Theatre) returns to play the central role of the Narrator. Margo is also the Founder/Artistic Managing Director of Full Circle: First Nation Productions, which this year is welcomed as an associate producer by founding producers Vancouver Moving Theatre and SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs.
